Flash & 3D unite

overview-broad

We are really excited to be doing our very first project using the excellent 3D engine created by the guys over at Unity3D. With its superb rendering and smooth graphics, it offers a great alternative to Papervision3D and the like.

Integrating this technology with Flash opens up a whole other level of user experience possibilities which we are certain will engage users in more immersive environments.

We cant say what it is we are doing with it right now, but we are also too excited to keep our mouths shut about it.

Follow this link to see what Unity3D is all about and dont be afraid to install the plugin. For examples click here.

West One Music Update

West One Music

After several weeks of late nights, countless cups of coffee and a few tears, we are rather happy to announce the latest update to West One Music.

With a brand spanking new Music section with fast, intuitive search and inline audio player, we have already noticed a significant increase in users. This update is the first step we are taking in improving the overall user experience and speed on the website, which will come to fruition early next year when we release the next version.

We are also currently working on a few other exciting projects for West One Music, watch this space.

FestBuzz make easy

FestBuzz

Making light work of finding a show to watch at the Edinburgh Festival. FestBuzz, sponsored by 4iP, have responded to newspapers reviewer cut backs, by creating crowd-sourced reviews on shows based on Twitter users chatter.

Floh! were approached by FestBuzz to create a UI design to best showcase Festival shows featuring in Tweats and assist users in finding the right show for them.

You can read more about FestBuzz and 4iP here.

Go go google gadget

We have recently completed a brilliant new Google gadget for West One Music which allows people to search and audition music from the westonemusic.com live catalogue.

The gadget features very intuitive controls that use cutting edge technology to deliver the audio playback, previously only seen in Flash. We wont lie. Flash is still being used here, but it takes a back seat in only providing the sound. All the rest is done using mystical voodoo magic.

Follow the link below to add the gadget to iGoogle and start listening.

West One Music goes live

Without further adieu, I would like to announce the launch of the brand spanking new westonemusic.com website. This initial release sees the website tummy tucked and tightened, with an upgraded back-end and bespoke CMS.

We are already busy with some amazing new features, so keep checking to see our developments.

A new site is launched

Well well well. It has taken many months, but we are now very proud to announce the launch of our brand new site. We have been looking forward to this moment for quite awhile now. So, if you will, please feel free to have a pint on us to celebrate.

Ok, so what can you now expect. Well, for starters, a far more up to date compilation of our work can now be viewed through our portfolio. We will also be posting new and interesting things we are up to on our new Blog.

But, what we are most excited about, is our active navigation above. This is the area that reads “Just type here”. As you type, our little gremlins behind the scenes go and find all the posts, pages, projects, clients and anything else that relates to your text. The most relevant are then neatly displayed for you to navigate to. Go ahead and try it!. Type “How do I get hold of you”, you will see a link to our contact page. Now, try “Who have you worked for”. You will see links to relevant examples and other content showing up.

Another quick way of finding your way around is by clicking on the “MORE…” link above. This drops down a panel of links divided into groups of what we feel you might want to look at.

As we grow, we are certain this will become a very popular method of navigating our content. In fact, we feel all sites should be like this.

Thats it for now, please go ahead and browse through our content and feel free to drop in from time to time and see what we have been doing.

eBay – Logo People

This was actually a piece we did quite a awhile ago but I thought I would get it up here for all to see.

We produced a short 3D animation to support the eBay Logo People campaign, promoting the online auction’s Entertainment, Men’s Fashion, Women’s Fashion and Home & Garden sections.

The animations where used on the ebay.co.uk homepage as well as banner adverts.

You can see an example of the final animations here, bare in mind that the product doesn’t change as this campaign ended ages ago.
